Ston
Ston is a medieval town whose history goes back as far as the fourteenth century. This is a small town with the longest stone wall in Europe (5.5 km) with narrow, quiet streets, old, noble houses and traces of ancient cultures around.
Its former value as a city of salt is confirmed today in the plants of the oldest active saltwork in the world, which remained a valuable tradition and natural way of producing salt that has not changed since ancient times. The richness of purity and naturalness confirms Mali Ston Bay, famous for the cultivation of shellfish, oysters and mussels since Roman times, and Ston oysters (Ostrea edulis), the glory as certified natural aphrodisiac.
